Dr. Mark Wolfmeyer taught mathematics in secondary public schools for 10 years on both the east and west coasts and is now an Assistant Professor of Secondary Education at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania. His research interests include educational policy, ecocritical foundations of education and STEM education. He is the author of Mathematics Education: A Critical Introduction, Math Education for America? Policy Networks, Big Business, and Pedagogy Wars, and coauthor of Philosophy of STEM Education: A Critical Investigation, which was awarded the American Educational Studies Association Critics Choice Award in 2016. His most recent book, Mathematics Education: A Critical Introduction (January 2017) offers both undergraduates and graduate students an introduction to the connections that exist between mathematics and a critical orientation to education.
